Bike use Data

Description

In order to support the “bicycle” policy, the Hauts-de-Seine Department, in which is located Issy-les-Moulineaux, in 2017,  decided to adopt permanent metering systems. About thirty counting points have been equipped since the end of 2017. 6 (2 started to work in the summer of 2020) of them are in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

The objective is to know the number of visitors to the most significant routes in Hauts-de-Seine in terms of bikes and linear continuity (cycle lanes, tramways, departmental roads, etc.) but also to collect data on all types of cycling facilities (lanes, tracks, bus lanes open to bicycles, greenways, etc.). In addition, these meters will make it possible to assess the impact and attractiveness of the recently created cycling facilities and to justify the interest in ensuring biking continuity on both sides. *

In addition to the counters, which generally go unnoticed by users, the permanent counting market for the installation of panels displaying bicycle traffic in real-time since the start of the day and the year.

Issy harvested this data in 2019 and 2020 to have a comparison and to be able to see the impact of strikes and COVID on mobility, including the acceptance of next measures about bikes.
