Traffic modelling data
To create a traffic model, there is necessary to have:
- Transport network – encoded transport network – streets and intersections with data on speed of traffic flow and delays at intersections, eventually model of public transport lines.
- Origin-destination matrix or matrices for different vehicle types and/or time periods.
If OD matrix is not available and/or is not calibrated with traffic census data, it is possible to calculate the OD matrix with following:
- Traffic generators – data on individual traffic districts such as population, number of jobs and other characteristics. Spatial characteristics – connection of the zone to the transport network.
- Data for the calibration of the model of the current state – actually measured traffic intensity on some sections of the transport network.
Main data elements:
Traffic network, Origin-destination matrix, Traffic generators, Traffic census (calibration data)
